Böhming was first demonstrably mentioned in a document in 1186. The Church of St. John the Baptist, dating from the 12th century (rebuilt in the 15th century), is located outside the village in the middle of the site of a former Roman fort. The question “Why didn’t they keep the church in the village?” has occupied generations of Bohemians. Unsuccessful.

The old schoolhouse (1922/24) in the town centre was converted into a youth and community centre a few years ago. Since then, it has become a popular meeting place. Clubs in Böhming include the volunteer fire brigade and the fruit and gardening club.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][/vc_section][vc_section el_class=”hintergrund-light”][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Active in nature

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”563″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Located in the heart of the Altmühltal Nature Park, Böhming is the perfect starting point for cycling tours, hikes and many other activities in the unique landscape of the Altmühltal.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”706″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]The Altmühl Valley is crisscrossed by countless hiking trails.
